Wedding Disc Jockeys
by Rev. Ray Cross

A Variety of Methods of Providing Recorded Music for Your Wedding

Recorded music can work very well in wedding ceremonies and receptions. Some couples manage recorded music themselves. This can work well or not. Others will delegate a family member or friend to manage the sound system. Many choose a professional disc jockey, who will provide his own equipment and a wide variety of music for you wedding. Whatever method you choose you should communicate and/or supply your music choices to those who manage recorded music for you. Be sure, also, that the sound equipment used is adequate for the task. Ghetto blasters may sound loud in an empty room, but the clothing and bodies of guests will gobble up the sound unless it has the necessary wattage for carrying power.

There is Wisdom in Hiring a Professional Wedding Disc Jockey

Choosing a professional is a wise choice. They have equipment with power to fill the room with the sound you want. Not only do they know how to present the music you have chosen, they also have developed their skills to lead and entertain for you and your guests. These factors and skills can make or break a wedding ceremony and reception.

Arrange to Help Your Wedding Disc Jockey or Sound Person

Whatever choice you make for your wedding music, work with them to help them provide your music and services to the standard you desire. A wedding rehearsal can iron out many of the rough spots and missed queues, but, unless you invite sound personnel and pay for their time and DJs won't attend wedding rehearsals. It is wise, therefore, to make a copy of the wedding ceremony available to your music people so they can follow along and be assured that they are submitting the right music for the correct queues.

Cue Your Wedding Disc Jockey from Across the Room

There is also wisdom is delegating one of your guests to position themselves at the other end of the room to signal the sound man concerning any inappropriate sound level. When the sound man is located where he cannot see at certain junctures in the ceremony this person can prove invaluable in signaling to the sound man what he should do when he cannot see.

The companies listed here provide music for weddings and a collection of other services designed to enhance your wedding and reception. Their styles vary widely so pick appropriately to your wedding plans.
