Too often we do because it has been done, rather than planning our reception to express who we are. Too often almost all energies are applied to the ceremony leaving the reception to languish in ho-humness.

From another perspective, your guests will bring with them expectations concerning your reception. If your creative approach to your wedding reception means that little or none of these expectations are fulfilled, your guests may be disoriented and uncomfortable.
