Software and computers have enabled the production of some pretty impressive items on the home printer, but there is no substitute for the quality and creativity of professionally produced and printed wedding invitations.  As well, if done right, the impact of professionally printed wedding invitations goes beyond merely the impression they make. 

Invitations Should Invite Guests to Arrive a Half Hour Before the Ceremony Begins

When you prepare your wedding invitations, I advise that you invite your guests to arrive a half hour before you actually plan for the procession to begin. This is very important, since it is almost certain that a guest or two will arrive late, and guests who arrive late have a tendency to interfere with processionals and the undisturbed atmosphere that you desire for your wedding. For the sake of  smooth  proceedings in your wedding it is wise to have all of your guests fully seated, awaiting the arrival of the bride. On top of this, don't plan to arrive a the very minute your wedding is to begin; plan to arrive early. Planning to arrive on time will almost certainly doom you to arrive late, as it, unrealistically, doesn't allow for anything to go wrong.

Inviting Your Guests to Arrive Early Helps Your Officiant to be On Time

Starting on time is a very serious matter to wedding officiants since, due to the popularity of certain days over others, they often serve more than one wedding on a day. They plan for a reasonable amount of time for each wedding and allow for the travel between them. If your wedding is late beginning it puts them under stress to be on time for the next wedding. If, in fact, your wedding is delayed beyond a certain point, the officiant may have to leave and return later to officiate for you. It is not appropriate for the start of a wedding following to be delayed due to a late beginning of the wedding preceding it.

Almost all risk of this can be headed off by wisely setting the expected beginning of your wedding one half hour prior to the start of the processional.
