FILIPINO WEDDING
Introduction
Friends and family, we are gathered here in God’s presence, to witness the marriage of (Bride) and (Groom). We ask in God’s name to bless and protect them in their journey.
Let’s Pray
God, you are the Creator of all things; You made us, and You sustain us; we depend on You. For the gift of life, we praise You. For Jesus who reveals its meaning and purpose, we thank You. In the world without, and in our lives within, there is much that is confusing and contradictory. Many voices counsel us; many faces pressure us; many things tempt us. We need Your light to lead us, your hand to hold us, and Your love to complete us. In Jesus’ name we ask now for Your blessing. Amen.

The Exchange of Coins Ceremony
May I please ask _____ to present me with the coins of Arrhae. (‘Are-ray’)
The coins that are presented here today are a reminder of good stewardship for all couples; that they will mutually support each other, their children and the world around them. May God bless these coins that symbolize mutual support and responsibility.
Instructions: Officiant pass coins to (Groom) and say:
(Groom), here are the arrhae, please pass them to (Bride) and repeat after me.
“I give you this arrhae as a pledge of my dedication to your welfare, the care of our home, and the welfare of our children.”
Once (Bride) has received them officiant says:
(Bride) please repeat after me
“I accept them and in the same way pledge my dedication to you, the care of our home, and the welfare of our children”

Instructions: Male Sponsor will pin the veil on (Groom)’s right shoulder, while Female sponsor will drape the veil over (Bride)’s head and pin it on the left side of her veil or dress
Let this be a symbol of the faithful love you have for each other. Through the passing of the years, let the veil remind you that you belong to each other and to no one else.
The Cord Ceremony
This cord symbolizes an infinite bond of love you share that keeps your relationship strong in the face of adversity, as well as that you both are no longer two, but one in marriage.
